Our Special Christmas Gift

My favorite man and love of my life gave us the most thoughtful Christmas gift. We each received a personal menu to our favorite place to eat "Cafe Curtis". Anyone can drive to the mall and buy a gift card. But this took a lot of time and preparation to actually think and prepare the menu. Then the time to shop and cook the meal in addition. He is the love of my life!

There are a few stipulations. We have to make a reservation (giving a weeks notice). We can only pick one entree and one dessert. And it is for that one person. He is not making the meal to serve all four of us. It is dinner for two. You and him!

We each have three different entrees (tailored to our tastes) to choose from (a total of nine). There are only three different desserts to choose from.

Amanda made her reservation that moment for New Year's Eve. She selected Steamed Crab Legs.

The menu reads like this:

Half pound of Alaskan Snow Crab legs steamed to perfection (with or without Old Bay Spice). Served with melted garlic butter, garlic mashed potato pancakes and julienne carrots.

Fresh Fruit Filo

A medley of fresh fruit, served in filo dough shells, covered in raspberry puree, topped with whipped cream.

It was actually fresh raspberries, strawberries and blackberries topped with cool whip.

The table was set. Amanda put on her special outfit that we bought earlier in the day. Daniel and I went to a neighbors house and Amanda and her Dad enjoyed a lovely dinner together. I was called to come home and partake in the left-overs. It was absolutely yummy!

Tonight, he is preparing Daniel's special New Year's Day meal: McDaniel's Chicken McNuggets and Fries.

Cubed chicken breast coated in seasoned panko and deep fried to a golden brown. Served with sweet potato fries and ranch carrot slaw.

Banana Split

3 scoops of ice cream of your choice, topped with 3 toppings of your choice, with bananas, whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry.

Daniel has requested fresh fruit for a topping and vanilla ice cream.
